20 years of love for this breed, 18 years of passion for SELECTIVE BREEDING
Simone Chauveau, owner of La Pam'Pommeraie kennel, lives in France, in Oussoy en Gatinais.
She told us these things for you:
"Yorkie because it's beautiful, smart and brave. Breeding because I was born with the drive to understand why life? and how? My own life happened so that I could get this understanding for dogs and not for humans...
I nowadays have about 15 grown up females in reproduction as well as 12 very beautiful young females waiting for their age to come. As soon as they become new mothers, the older ones will be reformed.
My dogs live in the large basement of my house, a settlement built according to the exsisting laws for breeding. They are left free, even though separated according to sex and age, of course. The boxes are there only to grant the dogs' security if I am outstation or if I am too busy to check on them. But I usually spend my whole day with them. I only climb upstairs to spend some time with my family or to get some rest."
The origins of the kennel are Ronny and Maria Engelen's yorkies (Belgium - OF MILLMOOR and MY PRECIOUS kennel). Simone bought her first female, GET-ON OF MILLMOOR, when she was still a three-month old baby. She was the founder of La Pam'Pommeraie breeding, and gave to Simone a very good lineage thanks to various matings happened at her own breeder's.
The first champion (homebred), Aquarelle de La Pam'Pommeraie was her father's portrait : Ch. MY PRECIOUS CLIDE. He just left us on novembre 1st 1999...
The second champion, Ch. LITCHI OF MILLMOOR, daughter of great champion EVER-TROUBLE OF MILLMOOR, is a slender and classy dog which was immediately noticed in the rings. She was twice vice-champion in French Nationale d'Elevage.
The only stallion Simone has ever bought, LEGATO OF MILLMOOR, champion of France in Longchamp in 1989, was a small, compact, self-confident animal, with a gentle round face - exactly like his father's, Ch. My Precious Clide. He gave to Simone a whole lot of excellent reproduction females, all of them mothers of champions.
Ch. Legato Of Millmoor and Ch. Litchi Of Millmoor have produced the champion of France, Empereur de La Pam'Pommeraie, a male as slim and elegant as his mother, with the same fluid and shiny texture. Ch. Litchi of Millmoor also gave birth to Ch. Gigi L'Amoroso de La Pam'Pommeraie, Best in Show of French Nationale d'Elevage 92, when he was 20 months old.
Ch. Empereur de La Pam'Pommeraie and Ch. Aquarelle de la Pam'Pommeraie have produced the champion of France, Get-Up de la Pam'Pommeraie. He just loved the ring.
Blue Emotion de la Pam'Pommeraie, the son of the well known Ch. Agapi delle Antiche Mura, is a small stallion but a fast tracker. He is nicely built, has wonderful colours, a nice walk and a small, very characteristic head. But he only weighs kg. 1,8 - too light for the ring. He has given:
-Ch. Flore de la Pam'Pommeraie, best female and #2 Best in Show in French Nationale d'Elevage in 1991, even though she was still running as a junior.
-Ch. H'Ines Top Model de la Pam'Pommeraie who is a larger copy of her father
-Ch. Fanfan La Tulipe de la Pam'Pommeraie, vice-champion of France at the Nationale d'Elevage.
Ch. Fanfan La Tulipe has produced Grace-Kelly de la Pam'Pommeraie, vice-champion of France in 1992 while still 16 months old, and later champion of France and BEST IN SHOW in French Nationale d'Elevage 1993. Beautiful female, with a fantastic walk, never scared in a ring.
Ch. Grace-Kelly de la Pam'Pommeraieis mother to the male Mozart de la Pam'Pommeraie, who is now running in the rings. He has just finished his International Championship and has just been appointed Vice-Champion of France of the last Nationale d'Elevage (see Macon 1999).
"Breeding, selecting and inventing genetic combinations, generation after generation - this is my passion. I consider exhibitions as an absolutely necessary step for each breeder of selection. I do not like to wonder about in origins. I only choose a stallion outside my own breeding after a long reflexion about his phenotype and genotype. This is Ch. Jubilant du Domaine de Monderlay belonging to Marc Mansuet. Thanks to his very beautiful colour, he usually gets rapidly noticed in the ring. He poses with my female Ch. Grace-Kelly de la Pam'Pommeraie. They are both Ch. Agapi delle Antiche Mura grandchildren.
On the other hand, I chose Ch. Durrer's High Flyer, Canadian Champion from Betty-Ann Durrer's breeding, later imported to France, only knowing his phenotype. I did not know what a fast tracker he was!"
Ch. Durrer's High Flyer is the father of four females out of two different matings. One of them is great and beautiful Ch. Merry Poppins de la Pam-Pommeraie, champion of France in the Nationale d'Elevage 1999 (see Macon 1999). These four females have produced with the kennel's stallions. The 12 females approaching reproduction are mainly their daughters.
Their fathers are Mozart de la Pam'Pommeraie, Le Capitan de La Pam'Pommeraie and his half brother Mowgli de la Pam'Pommeraie - three highly recommended stallions - and Mozart's son, Oliver Twist de la Pam'Pommeraie. Oliver Twist is built exactly like his aunt Merry Poppins: the same swinging walk, the same head as Ch. Fanfan La Tulipe, his great grandfather. It runs in the family.
Mozart and Merry Poppins, both champion of France, have also made Simone wonderfully happy when they were appointed best brace at the French Nationale d'Elevage.
"I cannot get away without mentioning mybreeder's stock. It is the brand, the signature and the reward for a breeder when all the dogs he submits - five - are acknowledged as being the best. This is what happened to me at the French Nationale d'Elevage in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1997... each year I have submitted a breeder's stock.. "
